Qun Zhao received a Bachelor degree in chemistry from Northwestern University in 2008. In May 2014, she received Ph.D. from Dalian Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and started to work in Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, CAS. She was promoted to associate professor in June 2016, and professor in June 2022. She has been engaged in membrane protein sample pretreatment and new methods of separation and analysis, as well as protein-protein interaction study. It mainly includes: 1) Systematical study of the mechanism of the interaction between ionic liquid and membrane protein, and develop the ionic liquid based membrane protein sample pretreatment method to significantly improve the qualitative and quantitative coverage depth of proteome; 2) Development of the in-vivo chemical cross-linking based intracellular protein complex structural analysis method to provide the key technology for realizing spatio-temporal dynamic interaction and functional analysis of proteins in living cell. As the project leader, she undertook the sub-project of National key research and development program. As the project leader, she undertook three funds of National Natural Science Foundation of China. In 2018, she was selected as the Young Science and Technology Star of Dalian, and in 2020, she was selected as a member of Youth Innovation Promotion Association, CAS. She has also served as a member of the Youth Committee of Chinese Proteome Society, Chinese Computational Proteome Society, and Shenyang Branch of Youth Promotion Association, CAS. She has published more than 40 papers in SCI journals, such as Angew. Chem., Hepatology, Anal. Chem., Mol. Cell. Proteomic, and authorized 17 domestic invention patents.
